  • Yup, and it's on what was a mid-line laptop from 3 years ago. Only just started recently.

At home I use a thinkpad that I got 2nd hand 10 years back, and it feels like warp speed by comparison.

  • Indeed, I don't have admin rights for anything outside of IP address changes at work.

I just thought of another bug bear, start menu lag on mouse clicks is a very odd problem, I don't remember anything like that, even on the first release of Windows 95 which I ran on a laptop with 25MHz and 8 Mb of ram.

  • Fair enough, I use 10 and 11 at work and hate it ... I used to like 7, using the control panel, search, default paths and stuff seemed a lot more intuitive.

That's why I stick with Linux at home, it feels a lot more like Windows used to, lol

  • What's been your favourite version of Windows?

  • Threads (1984), not super gory but really fucked up when you know it's basis. It hasn't aged well, but as a piece of history is worth watching IMO.

I had waking-up-screaming nightmares about the ending for about 6 months, but then it hit close to part of my trauma, and I watched it where it's set.

  • V for Vendetta.

The original graphic novel is good, but very dated to the feel of the Thatcher years.

The film has aged a lot better and it smoothed out the pacing, making it much more enjoyable IMO.

  • You should watch his episode in The Last Of Us season 1, nobody not progressive would have taken that role and he knocked it out of the park.

One of the best single episodes of TV I've seen in my life.

  • Ah cool, I'll look it up then!

  • No mention of Snowrunner, for shame!

(which I'll be going back to after I've finished Dirt 4, which is also awesome)

  • Is Tokyo Xtreme a bit like Tokyo Highway Challenge 2? Because that game was really good IMO :-)

  • Yeah, I was surprised to be honest!

Before doing track days at Cadwell Park I used to fire up Project Cars and do a couple of laps just to remind myself of the order and camber of the corners (it's a very complex track), but that didn't feel realistic at all ... Dirt 4 does, even though the stages aren't real, which is ironic

Drive my commute for fun & profit!

  • Only after the deaths of the figureheads who brought it about in the first place.

  • You already know the answer to that, Sarge

  • While that's true, most of them are abandoned for a reason ... lack of work or water being the big two.

  • Damnit, and this was the final payoff after two previous posts where I put thirsty lesbian words into Betty's mouth ...

  • Yeah, that's what I was getting at - many new / recent movies have such poor election that it's hard to tell what they're saying.

  • Does night mode fix mumbly american actors who are unintelligible at any volume?

  • Shakey cam to cover up a limited budget for a car chase, instead of getting creative ... so if the rapid cuts and wobble wasn't there you'd see that they only had one street and couldn't exceed 30mph

    Do you agree ?
