I can only speak for how it shows up on Mastodon, but over there any hashtags we try and add here just show up as plain text and don’t show in the actual tag feed, so it does nothing for discoverability.
I live an increasingly confusing double life as TeaHands the game dev, and TheGiddyStitcher, multicrafter extraordinaire!
Currently working on my first ever commercial indie game, a minimalist city builder.

Gotta actually link things if you want people to find them, my friend! 😉
I’m still using the v1 headset but have to admit this would probably tip me over into upgrading.
My husband has recently got into developing for Pico-8, which has a pretty tricksy maximum size limit to work with.
Afaik this isn’t for any real hardware-related reason, but clearly people enjoy the challenge and the creativity that naturally flows from limitation.
Naturally there are a ton of terrible games that get shovelled out for it (same as with anything) but some people can make it do pretty wild stuff!
Might not be the kind of arts and crafts you’re talking about but I mod both !knitting@lemmy.world and !lemmy_stitch@sh.itjust.works, plus there’s !crochet@lemmy.ca , !sewing@lemmy.world and plenty more that would be happy to have you!
Yep you’d expect it to climb significantly once .world upgrades. Basically this update messes with the baseline stat a lot so no reason to celebrate, but also no reason to really be fussed either way as long as we’ve got plenty people here to talk to 👍
Pretty sure most people just use their Mastodon app. I’ve heard decent things about Fedilab as well, haven’t tried that one myself but I hear it has PeerTube support.
The PT devs have just announced they’ll be working on a proper app in 2024 so 🤞
Figure out what sort of thing you’d like to see, check out the related hashtag feeds. You can follow tags as a good way to get started and follow individual people as and when they pop up with something cool.
I have a really out of the loop question that will probably make me sound like a troll, but really I’m just old and out of the loop:
What exactly are the unique features of Tumblr? as far as I recall it was just a blogging site with support for specific post formats, right? Did it get more complicated than that?
You left them in peace, right?
…right? 🥺
This means it’s been a year since I had time to consistently play DRG and I don’t know what to do with that info
Played through it with my husband, usually on an evening after work, and discovered that no matter how stressed or annoyed you are the Outer Wilds intro / menu is just instant relaxation. Like sliding into a whole other world where everything is going to be ok.
With our increased accuracy and feather-light touch we will take over the world!
Or, judging by this thread so far, maybe we already did…
I don’t even have big hands, just regular lady-hand sized. I still don’t really get the palm thing, just tried it and it feels so weird! Maybe depends on the shape of the mouse too, since some can be quite a lot taller than others.
TIL I’m a fingertip gripper
In the UK it’s (or at least was) BODMAS. Just to complicate things further.
Outer. Wilds.
😭
No but it wasn’t the same axe you inherited ten seconds after you inherited it, either.
So many people make the same mistake, you are definitely not alone. VERY different games though.
I remember posting this question just after the Reddit exodus so went back to look at my stats from back then. According to the post I’d been on Lemmy for 12 days and had subscribed to:
That was just on this account though, and I have two accounts with fairly different feeds. So let’s say I was probably on a total of around 180-200 then across both accounts, and have been adding them at a slow but steady rate
That gives us a scientifically sound estimate of my current total subscriptions: a lot.
