  • Good question.

Luck is always an element of success. I’m confident there are other indie titles with similar levels of gameplay, music, and art style, with just as much passion poured in, that just never caught the viral wave. It’s a big world out there.

Obviously the dev set their project up well for that success, making it more likely, but it’s still a dice roll.

I’ve heard very successful movie/TV actors talk about seeing nobodies blow their minds in local theater productions, people who never got the stroke of luck required to make it big. Plenty of successful people forget that they owe no small part of their success to luck.

  • If you survived childhood, there was a decent chance you’d live to your 60s, IIRC. Obviously disease and injury were more dangerous, but childhood killed off those most likely to succumb to disease.

  • The guy gunning for a Nobel Peace Prize wants a Department of War.

  • Yep. As a spinoff it would’ve been fine. As a season of Scrubs, it was terrible.

With rewatches, I always pause after the eighth season and come back for the ninth as a spinoff.

  • There is absolutely no reason why I can't want another season of something I enjoy. As long as it isn't another season with Dave Franco.

You are proof that people with different opinions can agree on things. I agree about wanting more Scrubs, but baby Franco was probably the best part of that terrible 9th season.

  • Me: looks up from Stardew Valley What main story missions?

  • Once the military control and election suppression are in place, you don’t need the “charisma” anymore.

  • Ad-free subscription services that actually benefit the creators are exceedingly rare.

Believe it or not, YouTube Premium is one of them. A Premium view is worth more than an ad-supported view to a creator.

(Obviously Patreon is better, as they can’t make a living off of only Premium views because it’s a smaller group; the population of ad-supported users is much much larger. But YouTube Premium does benefit the creators more than ad-supported YouTube does.)

  • Fuck yeah!

I had installed it anyway and it had some pretty severe texture issues, I’m looking forward to trying it out!

  • Society is a pendulum and progress always comes with backsliding. It will get better again. It always does. It might get darker first though.

  • Thanks! I figured there was more to it than I knew.

  • I could be wrong, but I don’t think the gear is the problem. It’s the foam.

As I understand it, Teflon itself is inert. It’s too big to cause us health problems. But the chemicals used to apply it, like PFOS and PFOA, those are dangerous.

  • That’s the way I like it. 😁

  • That and public libraries (though we’re trying to kill those now).

  • And in my experience I would recommend Canada. Although traffic in Toronto is terrible.

  • Pretty much every restaurant in the US will give you free tap water (with ice in it, even). At some places they’ll even just bring it to the table before you ask.

But I wouldn’t recommend the US in general.

  • You’re misunderstanding.

20 years from now, no one will admit to having voted for him.

  • Oh it was great. You get a 3.5mm headphone jack cable with three connectors, but instead of stereo and microphone they’re mapped to the white-red-yellow stereo and composite video connectors at the other end, et voilà! MP4 video on your CRT! Depending on the quality of your video it was essentially like DVD.
