Wow, thanks!! That actually solved it apparently! Why does the wireguard config change if i can ping outside the docker container though? Is it because the wireguard client inside the container opens up ip adresses or something? :) Thanks again! Itried to find a solution for many hours yesterday :D
Oh and is the ‘,’ in the allowed ips meant as an “and” or rather an “or”?
When I am on the server, it can even ping the domain. On my laptop, it can only resolve the domain to the correct ip
Changing the domain does not change the problem sadly. I thought .local is a safe one to use
So in the dnsmasq.config file is this entry: ‘address=/server.local/192.168.178.10’ and using nslookup it resolves it correctly
I agree, but in the other Hand, everyone at framework is just a huge nerd. They all worked as engineers in big other companies before and decided its time for a change. So for me it does not really feel like profit is their sole number one priority. And like the team diacribes quite well in the comments of the post, they are just enthusiastic and want to enable motivated lads to work more closely with the developer team
It feels like its always the same with big companies trying to please their stakeholders. They just manoeuvered themselves into a very bad corner by planning super short term and trying to milk each product to their limits. All of this because they were super dominant for a long time. But as soon as they experience pressure by amd, apple m1 series or qualcom, to actually perform, they crumble under their own short term planning. It feels like their existence ist onley based on their reputation from several years back and the lack of research done by the customers
Haha thats just how capitalism treated every technological evolution. Society develops a new thing that could ease the work of thousands and enable more spare time. But instead this time is used to create even more tasks. Only difference, that ai does not really speed up things that much right now
To be honest i offen feel the same, just helpless and too insignificant to change it in my own. But thats the point, we are not allone! I just try to show them undenieble facts, the already very present effect of climate crisis or just statistics of how the money is distributed in our country. The thing I struggle most with them is their bad feith in people. For example many welfare programs or in the extreme the concept of unconditional income by the state gets always used to argue that people are lazy and it would not work because no one would get a job anymore, which i disagree with
Depends in how much you dont want to die
Thats dope. I suppose grandma? Do you keep them around to copy stuff over to your current project?
I have read the same, but also read it is not very true anymore, specially with dedicated server drives. I would not worried too much about it honestly
I dont think you should habe to learn to usw the terminal in order to debug your operating system. If i would switch my mom to Linux, i dont want her to have to use the terminal. So making life easier for those people would grealty improve the appeal of Linux to tech noobs. By arguing we need the terminal for Linux, we gatekeep people from trying and using Linux, if they are afraid of technology
Racism is a Problem when certain groups do not get the same chances or their safety is in danger. In this case no one is at a disadvantage through their work, quite the contrary
I am in a very similar position. Ableton and some other, smaller stuff is the only program that keeps me from switching to Linux fulltime. Bitwig did not click for me yet, I have to give it a try again soon. But the problem of unopenable projects persist. There are roumors, that the push 3 standalone runs a Linux port of ableton. So maaaybe there will be a Linux version in the future? That would be wild! Until then I just dualboot. I will soon reinstall my windows partition for ableton only… I am pretty shure if bigger companies would start supporting Linux, it would take off like crazy
What would you use to RAID the drives? Die you try zfs for a USB das?
I feel what you mean. But if you are willing to change, i woukd suggest to exchange meat with other protein sources when ever possible. I can highly recommend saitan!
I use Ubuntu at the moment. Where are the differences?
Uugh I’m so sick of proprietory licenses and software… all this licensing shit… I’m just fed up
First: Have a look at bitwig. Ableton is the only tool that keeps me from switching permanently to Linux. And i tried it with my push 2 and an extension - looks like i found something that will work for me! The workflow is even a bit better in some cases. Its not foss though
And there is an extension for onedrive for the file Explorer. Just try it out and ask your work or uni to enable the connection. Worked at our uni without issues
Pro tip after fucking it up twice: if you want to dualboot: Disable yecure boot and bit locker in Windows and WAIT 30 MINS at least or find out how to check the decryption status of bit locker. It says “done” after clicking the button, but it takes time. If that fails bit locker will lock the hard drive and you will habe fun searching for the key
