  • Apologies, my point was not clear enough.

My response was aimed at your first sentence:

There could or could not be a God.

This makes it read like the likelihood of a god existing is 50/50. In reality, based on evidence, its much closer to 100% chance there's no god; 0% chance there is one.

  • without evidence pointing to a god, we can easily dismiss the concept. "gods" were invented to explain the world before we had science. we have the tools and knowledge now to dismiss fairytales for what they are, interesting stories.

  • The only real answer - same as with any other software/code.

  • Devil's advocate:

Mozilla needs a fat paycheck or the whole show stops, we all lose and are forced to use a chrome-based browser. Firefox is the only real alternative and thanks to their work we have, in no particular order:

That doesn't mean Mozilla hasn't made bad decisions, they absolutely have. But to claim they should stop receiving nearly half a billion dollars every year from their competitor makes zero sense, especially considering developing a web browser is about as difficult as it gets. You'd be destroying the only alternative and helping Google mop the floor with the pieces that remain.

  • fuck anything jack dorsey touches.

  • Ironically staying home may help more than protesting as it denies Trump the ability to declare martial law due to "riots" — AKA peaceful protests turned violent by police. Basically just wait it out until midterms and hope for the best, assuming voting isn't completely fucked by then and that people have learned from their mistakes and turn out in droves for the opposite of Trump. But you can't tell people to stay home, they're angry, rightfully, and want answers and their families back.

I don't see this getting any better. Anyone have a more optimistic take?

  • Now imagine if everyone was armed to the teeth and showed up to protest peacefully. I feel like that's what it would take to make kidnappers think twice about fucking around.

  • It would be great if conservatives could read

  • add a dash of 'gnome' in your search and problem solved, mostly.

  • how was the stuff in Project 2025 not enough to hit people with fucking conspiracy, racketeering and sedition charges

Genuine question— Conspiracy generally involves an agreement between two or more people to commit an unlawful act. The "unlawful act" being key, what unlawful act is there to charge someone with conspiracy regarding the policy changes in Project 2025?

On the other hand, once the SCOTUS basically made the President king so long as they did it in the interest of the country, Biden should have just put all of them in jail, but that's beside the point.

  • ironic

  • This is a tragedy, and unfortunately the general sentiment I've seen online from trumpers is that "this is not natural" and "this was an intentional geoengineering attack by the democrats". MTG has already introduced a bill that:

prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. It will be a felony offense.

    This is the worst timeline.

  • that's callous, disconnected and embarrassing.

  • Piefed is both an instance (piefed.social) and back-end server software that allows anyone to run their own instance (list of various Piefed instances). It works on the same ActivityPub protocol as Lemmy and Kbin/Mbin so they all interoperate with each other.

One of the cool things I like about Piefed is it seems to join the comments of various instances in cross-posts. On Lemmy, you can see its crossposted, but you have to manually check them out to see any comments on others. One cool feature I like over Lemmy. There's a few others, but I'd encourage you to check it out. You don't have to commit if you don't like it.

  • Awesome! Good to know its based off some kind of standardized testing. This is good for everyone!

  • Dessalines can't disagree with Putin or he'll be dropped from payroll 😉

  • From @fuckwit_mcbumcrumble@lemmy.dbzer0.com on a post over at !android@lemdro.id

Yeah this is just manufacturers self rating themselves. This is just like VW cars rating themselves as getting 5-10mpg better than their competitors, when really they were just measuring from the balls.

The up side is if they fail to meet those ratings then are the consumers entitled to some sort of compensation?

Btw, I love how Piefed shows comments from cross-posts. Every client should do it, helps make the fediverse feel bigger and more diverse.
