  • As far as I can tell, no. I haven't been able to search or import releases since about April.

  • I think the issue they are referring to is that Lidarr's API or interface with the MusicBrainz database has been broken for a few months now, which means it's impossible to search or add new artists/releases to your Lidarr library.

And as far as I can tell, it's still down. I have been unable to use Lidarr for anything since about April, except for finding releases that I had already added to my local database.

  • Jesus man, if you're going to post shit like that, at least hide it behind a spoiler tag with a graphic violence warning or something like that. That poor cop's family might be browsing.

  • Right?

Having sex, with a dominatrix, in a church, on a legit altsr, is metal as fuck.

  • To be fair, the new logo was objectively terrible, and they were right to abandon it.

Lefties who claim to hate them for caving to the anti-woke crowd are playing into the culture war bullshit just as much as the anti-woke morons.

  • Also maybe the fact that he's looking at kids in a fuckin airport. If there is one public space I'd condone parents shoving an iPad in their hands and letting them binge YouTube while sitting quietly, that is it.

  • There used to be a restaurant near me that served their patty melts with a ton of parmesan cheese on the outside of the bread like that. There's salty savory tang added by grilled sharp cheese is fantastic!

(Not that you need me to tell you 😉)

  • I will cop to not having fully read the original source, but going off the excerpts posted, my takeaway was that participants were told they were getting AI generated recommendations--the difference was whether it was explicitly stated that they were based off their previous consumption/preferences or if they were not explicitly told this fact.

IMO generating recommendations for new content to explore is actually one of the better use cases for a LLM, since reading and distilling tons of organic online conversations from people who have expressed similar interests to me is exactly how I would ideally go about it.

But yeah, back to the main point...maybe there is more to it, but this seems like a relatively neutral point that can be spun in either direction depending on which echo chamber you're in. For example, imagine r/conservative being all "those silly liberals hate AI so much that they would rather get random recommendations than ones they were told come from AI"

  • Maybe I'm reading too much or too little into this, but I think I would be more likely to entertain AI-generated recommendations that I was told consider my past media consumption or interests, since the alternative seems to be considering AI-generated recommendations that do not consider my past behavior.

I'd assume the latter would just be a bunch of algorithmic slop based on what is trending in general, and therefore of zero value to me.

There's maybe a subtle detail in that "recommendations based on past behavior" could mean "more of the same", which is not necessarily helpful. But my default assumption would be that it includes "people with similar habits to you also like", and/or "things that combine your known preferences". Even then, if typical streaming services recommendations are any reference, I'd take "more of the same" over "trending" 9 times out of 10.

  • In many cases, not even forced, just given the option to play as a non-straight character in a way that's mostly irrelevant to the actual game!

  • I've been playing Borderlands lately, and this feels like it could have been lifted straight from a side quest with Hammerlock!

  • Why is he able to continue dismantling the country? Because a significant number of people support what he is doing in some way or another.

Why do they support him? Because his messaging, as inane as it is, resonates with a lot of people who genuinely see him as a strong, confident leader.

Why do they see him as a strong confident leader? Because he talks and acts like a schoolyard bully, and a lot of people mistake overcompensating for insecurity as confidence.

It's not going to work on all of his supporters, but just like with the Epstein Files (WHICH HE STILL HAS NOT RELEASED), if some chunk of his supporters see the emperor is naked, it erodes the mystique. Fact-checking him is useless because Trumpism is all about feelings--at least SOMEONE is realizing this and taking advantage of it.

  • Regular people have no problem being called weird (in fact, a lot of us actively celebrate our weirdness), but a fascist movement simply falls apart without the solid conviction that they’re the only sane and normal ones.

Somehow I had never made this connection until just now! It always struck me that just calling them "weird" seemed so effective, since it's not even really an insult, but this makes complete sense.

  • They had us in the first 89%, not gonna lie!

  • Honestly I didn't even think about that part. When I first heard the interview on the radio this morning, I imagined they were talking about experienced massage therapists or something. Nah, they were kids working their first job, not even out of HS.

You're 100% correct that under normal legit circumstances, not even their direct supervisor would give a shit about a 17 year old changing service industry jobs. The fact that Trump not only knew about this, but cared about it to this degree, is very fucking weird.

  • Seems like the play will be: She releases a list of names that include lots of people Trump doesn't like and omits anyone he likes, DoJ says "wow, she just helped us crack this thing wide open, super helpful!", leniency is granted, and the country moves on from the whole thing satisfied with the knowledge that Clinton and some other democrats were the only pedophiles after all!

  • I can only speak for myself, but there are plenty of times when the plans sound great in theory, a few days/weeks ahead of the thing. But then when the thing is imminent, that excitement turns to anxiety. It usually has nothing to do with not wanting to do the thing or see the people, but some more gut-level aversion to having your time pre-committed on a day where your body feels the need to just chill or recharge your social battery.

  • So you're proudly uninformed because you don't need to be... but are also informed enough to state that this whole thing is overblown... based on having learned one fact about the matter...? Pick a lane!
