  • International relations noob here. I get why we want to do this, and sure, do it, but it feels like the real plan is to just keep funding Israel while they do a little ethnic cleansing both countries' leadership wants.

  • The incredible adventures of Van Helsing. Decent rpg with loot but was fairly imbalanced among character classes. The real winner was the mini tower defense games in it and the spinoff tower defense game, imo.

  • The irony of a guy whose faith came to power by r*ping and pillaging, telling members of another faith to be nonviolent is hilarious. He and his faith obviously just don't want the competition.

  • My first thought before checking other people's takes in the Internet is that we (USA) were just acting like it took us by surprise, but it was actually planned because we want to crush the Muslim state, and this is the best opportunity we've seen to move forward with that. We immediately defended Israel against Iran's retaliatory barrage.

I admittedly know shit about foreign policy but just assume we do things that any racist christian nationalists might do, and that's one. I'm not supporting Iran here; just trying to make sense of it. Religion poisons everything.

  • I've actually seen them posting about eggs and only eggs now. They want to know why liberals aren't talking about egg prices now. They're ignoring the rest. They're down to $3 a dozen or so, which is better, but it's still at least double what they were not long ago.

  • Man I hope that when this is over, these thugs are hunted to the end of their existence and imprisoned, no matter their age. They should be treated like we treat Nazis of old. "Just following orders" shouldn't fly.

  • How the fuck are you getting a valid random sample of people with autistic diagnoses/characteristics by limiting yourself to Medicaid/Medicare recipients?

  • To be replaced by something privately funded, if at all.

  • Agreed, but that's also weird. Suddenly they're the arbiter of what rules are okay to break and what aren't? Sounds like they're just trying to keep costs/traffic down.

  • They call 13 year old girls "young women," so it stands to reason that they're talking about getting teenage boys into the workforce for minimum wage here, yeah.

  • Shit, you're right. We can't have that. Can't wait to watch read about Josh Hawley breaking Booker's new record with a speech about how freedom of religion is discriminatory against christians and only christians.

  • I'm not sure if this helps, but I use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger in Firefox and can read it.

  • Gun bans next?

  • I think it's a reasonable assessment of the current situation. He wants/they want to put us in a situation where our military must or can be used to restore order. They want to normalize military use against US citizens.

  • Or use it as a product search engine, then go to the supplier or an alternate online store to buy the one you want. I don't have it on my phone but do go to it in browser occasionally for that.

  • That's my thought as well. A one day boycott like the "no shopping day" does literally nothing, but 40 days can reform habits. To the extent practicable, I'm doing all my shopping at Costco now. I generally eat a lot of the same things, so bulk quantities aren't that big of a deal to manage.

  • Sure was. After Pell Grant and whatnot, I only needed most of my subsidized loan to live on campus at a private four year college.

It feels weird to be old enough to watch us repeat that cycle but with more fascism this time. At least I learned to always live in fear and anxiety that everything could be lost in a moment, so now my emergency fund is decent.

  • I'm not an economist, but is this where we

    1. Lower interest rates to "help the economy"
    2. Normal people still can't afford things because we're in a recession
    3. Normal people start losing their homes
    4. Rich people have cheap loans to buy said homes due to interest rate drops
    5. Rich people rent out new homes to normal people for more than they were paying in mortgage, after normal people rebound or figure out how to make it work with two families in the home
    6. America is...great?
  • Oh we are. Can't really call ourselves "Iowa Nice" at this point. No one is trying harder to get 45's attention than Governor Reynolds, aka The Kim Reaper. We've got private school vouchers, we nuked our progressive tax brackets in favor of a flat tax, and we even started our own DOGE.
