Yes, but it’s neither as good at adblocking as UBlock Origin or as fully featured.

You’re right. The answer: from c/all
I understand this was posted in the Reddit community, but also…
Who cares? Let that cesspool die.
[Google] will shove ads in your face [literally any time any place they can get away with it]
Fixed title
I’m guessing that’s not the reason for the downvotes. Even though this is the reddit community, Lemmy users generally just don’t care about what happens on reddit.
Baked in AI makes C Suite and shareholders happy. That’s about it.
Used Reddit for years. There’s no way the percentage is that low.
We use Everything for that now
Worked for me last week
I did hit enter, but only once. Markdown needed 2 enters to not carry to the next return, at least in this app (thunder). I added a second return and it should display correctly now.
Fixed
it’s not supposed to be
That’s the issue. That might be fine for you, but for others we would like it to be. The limitation isn’t hardware, so let the users decide whether they want it to be more than a big iPhone.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I haven’t had that happen to me yet with videos I’m looking for again having gone private.
I’m also not interested in crappy, privacy-invading, ad-shoving YouTube apps, which is why I mentioned SmartTube. In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s FOSS and has AdBlock & SponsorBlock integrated. It’s designed for TV use. If Tube Archivist fits your need though, that’s great.
I’m genuinely curious: do you re-watch enough YT videos that you need to archive your subscriptions? Or have I misunderstood the use of the plugin? I’m using SmartTube for TV YT content and it’s fantastic.
if you have weird double monitors
Is having more than one monitor “weird” to most Linux distros? I guess I’m a huge weirdo for having 3 then…
And I (don’t) feel fine
Because when you have shareholders, there’s no such thing as “we’re profitable enough”. Shareholders always demand more. Ads means more profit, at least in the short term. Next quarter profits are all that matter to public companies.
It’s obscene, but it’s the way it is.
As someone who works IT supporting senior citizens, this forced switch is really bad. The mail and calendar app was simple and great for them, and this change sucks. Thunderbird has not been a viable option with those I’ve tried so far - too different and too complicated for them.
The downside to Keepass is it is not self hosted, as in it’s designed to run locally per device. Yes, you can put the database file on a network and have multiple clients from different operating systems access the database, but you will end up with collisions and database issues. Ask me how I know.
Running cross platform Keepass (and it’s various forks) is absolutely doable, but it is not as seemless as BitWarden. I’m running self hosted VaultWarden and I’m hoping to run it for a long time as it’s much easier than Keepass.
