Long term computer programmer, making my own library. American based. Far left politically. Promotes use of paper ballots. Follows news about environmental collapse, political corruption in my country, human rights, science and tech.

  • While it is true that in a democracy the ruling class would not have to rely on mass cheating, the USA went there.

One could argue that mass cheating has been part of regular politics since the 1800s, and made worse recently by voting machines run by private companies using closed source hardware and software.

The USA has sunk so far down below the democracies of the world, that it will take extra steps to correct, just to get back to the issues the other countries see day to day.

But, the average voter will find it hard to admit they have not only been tricked once, but twice (that it is a sham, and the mechanism of the sham is a scam). I fully expect the vast majority of people interested in the politics and reformation of the USA to ignore the sketchy vote counts for at least another generation, if not more. However, there cannot be any real reform until it is addressed.

To convince people there are other options, including socialism, they need to be shown their true chains.

But because people will refuse to see this, it means the only true path forward is not using the current system at all.

  • Everything is fine

  • One cannot technically throw the election if the counting of the ballots is not understood, and there is already mass cheating.

  • they voted for

Nobody can prove the winners of the elections, going back decades in the USA , are actually the winners. It is a thing of faith

  • Always has been.

  • Republicans in Georgia do not want the metro areas to grow more, fearing a change in political power.

    Federal goons hate electric cars.

  • Saving money may not be enough. The value of savings can evaporate. Especially if Trump starts shaking the federal reserve like someone shakes a fruit tree to make it drop goodies.

Buying goods now, tradable on the black market later, may be helpful

  • As usual trans are the test case. If this succeeds then other groups will be added to the list. I would not be surprised at eventual bans on all immigrants and activists

  • Pretty sure Israel is one of ten countries blackmailing him now

  • Given that the entire Democratic Party, at the national level, is managed opposition, and not just its leaders.

It’s not going to change much if they stepped down today.

Nothing will significantly change in the USA, for most people, until there is a new burst of activity in local city and county politics. And not just some enlightened movements in too few large cities

  • Perhaps the Supreme Court will overrule this?

  • I think the two peoples have much in common; probably more than many realize.

  • Nobody will target him.

The USA is very safe for his type to exist.

  • These people either don’t care they lie or have zero introspection.

Most probably he dealt with it and moved on, unchanged

  • If progressives had more power than now, it would partially make the above harder to do, but would not stop the cycles every 8 years or so.

The only way to escape the scamming of this country is for progressives to insist on paper ballots everywhere. Or else it’s just superficial wins, not important on the national level.

But progressives in the Democratic Party cannot insist on the use of counting methods used in the majority of countries like in the EU , Japan , Canada etc .

And it is here I find the psychology of the movement darkly fascinating, because it hobbles itself with taboos.

  • I’ve said it a hundred times. Look at the last 40 years of history where the GOP sabotages the country to increase wealth for a minority. Then later the Dems fix up enough. Then this happens repeatedly.

Look at the polling issues and taletell signs of ballot manipulation in several states. Going back to the 1990s.

Think of the games con artists play as good cop, bad cop, designed to extract wealth from their victims . It takes two actors to play .

I really do expect the Democrats will be allowed to win the midterms next year, and do nothing productive. They will not do tactics a real opposition party would do.

Then a democratic president will be allowed to win again. That president will do nothing particularly helpful other than bandages, so the next iteration will extract more wealth.

When the Dems win, it will silence, yet again, the proponents for paper ballots only.

And the next iteration of the gop in the 2030s will be worse than now.

And that is the most optimistic take on the future I have.

  • That is not their problem, it is ours.

Their problem is the multiple PR disasters which will probably lower campaign contributions.

  • I think a problem the Democratic Party is facing is that, today, few believe they will
