Non-Zero Pi models haven't been even close to $20 for a while now. Any Pi these days is gonna be $60-80 for a fully functioning setup (Pi + SD + case + power adapter), at the minimum. And I wouldn't run Plex off a Pi Zero, those have more or less the same specs as the 1st/2nd gen Pis.
If you're running Proxmox already,, just spin up a VM for Podman/Docker and set up unattended-upgrades. Boom, done. You don't need a whole lot of CPU or RAM for that, either.
I paid for Pocket Casts years ago. Then shortly after, they announced it was going to be free. I think I got a refund. Don't remember.
I can't say I'm surprised at this decision to stuff it with ads. Gotta pay for development somehow, and unfortunately they took the easy route, i.e. data collection and ads.
Ugh, the fucking McD's app is such a pile of trash. I just now installed it to see if it got any better, and....nope. Still dogshit. No warnings about being rooted or bootloader unlocked though ¯(ツ)_/¯
Nexus 6P was the very last Nexus device. The OG Pixel came out the following year, in 2016. I happen to have both devices, they are currently sitting on my desk, both loaded with Lineage OS. My 6P somehow managed to retain functionality of it's entire SD810. Still gets toasty and throttles down though, and has been through a couple batteries now.
The Nexus 7 was a tablet from 2012. Damn fine tablet.
Jesus christ. So glad I ditched MS. It's like getting out of a cult - once you see it looking in from the outside, you finally realize how terrible it is.
No, just an amateur with an old Nikon D3100 and a couple lenses. Though I have a few family members who are professional wedding/family photogs. Usual equipment for them is a mac of some sort with lots of storage and Adobe Creative cloud (or whatever they call it).
I don't understand why this is so difficult to comprehend - Pros don't use gallery-focused applications like Immich or Google Photos as their primary backup solution. This is not a thing that happens. If someone does use that kind of application, then they are the exception and not the rule.
It’s not great, and heavily restricted, but it for sure exists
That's kind of the point though. Apple's file manager portrays a "flat" filesystem, where all of your data is laid out neatly on the table - so to speak - and the actual locations of those directories within the system are buried inside vague and protected locations "for security". Android file managers embrace a more traditional Unix-like filesystem hierarchy.
Man, you're the one who came in and said Immich could be used by professional photographers. Don't make dumbshit statements and then get pissy when others explain how you're wrong.
You're not uploading to Backblaze or Immich or GPhotos or whatever as your primary backup storage. You're dumping the SD cards, or saving RAW files directly, onto a fileserver or computer of some sort.
Nobody in their right mind would use Immich or GPhotos for that kind of thing, which is what this chain was about. Backblaze is a completely different scenario, for backing up data after the fact.
