  • Yeah, if I wanted a VM, I'd be running a VM...

  • Is it the third child using Puppy Linux, or do they just have a dog, though?

  • Wait till you hear about betanet

  • Everyone in the comments making such a huge deal of account security when literally all Rockstar had to do was allow people to unlink their Steam accounts from Social Club. It could even be done in their own launcher, with the credentials of the Steam account that actually owns the game. Then people could just make a new Social Club account, it's not worth shit anyways.

They're locking people out of playing a local, offline game, over some decade old account that I used my spam email for, and now I'm supposed to remember it? Get a fucking grip bro.

  • Social Club is the kind of account you use a throwaway email for, and just use whatever random nickname isn't taken yet. I, personally, have no idea what the email or nickname to my Social Club account are. I also have bought GTA V through Steam back in 2015 and haven't lived into Social Club since. I think it's perfectly fair to expect that your Steam account shouldn't be hijacked by Rockstar upon linking it to one Social Club account once.

At the very least, if they're gonna have a Rockstar launcher, it should allow you to unlink your Steam account through it, using your Steam credentials, and free it up to link to a new Social Club account.

  • Kindly mention in the game's listing that it's vibe coded, so I can avoid the bugs and security flaws by simply not playing it.

  • If it's not your daily driver, and you want to learn more about Linux, open the Arch Wiki, click on Installation guide, and have fun.

  • My grandma got along with Mint for Facebook browsing and KPatience.

If your mom is more into using real apps, plus the Windows UI, and you're comfortable with some setup, I'd highly recommend Debian 13 with KDE Plasma and Flatpak, with the Flatpak-Discover integration. That'll allow her to use lightweight, stable apps from apt, or more recent, but larger apps from Flathub, and install it all herself through Discover. Honestly, there should be a distro for that.

I'd be using that myself if it weren't for some very specific software I need from the AUR.

  • Don't worry, we'll keep your data very safe... On our hands...

  • bs-manager flatpak won't work, the AUR version does. That's more convincing than I'll ever need to go back to Arch.

  • Don't care, show me good gameplay and good reviews, then I'll consider buying it.

Why are games nowadays 99% careful wording, business decisions and clout, and 1% game?

  • Install fish

    chsh -s /usr/bin/fish

    That's all, folks.

  • Free as in "you're free to use the system, and tell it what to do", not only as in "you can use it for free".

If the only point for Linux was it being available for free, then just install Windows, open PowerShell and irm https://get.activated.win/ | iex

  • U mad?

  • "These jokers" are giving the files and documentation away for free. They're charging for the cost of putting together a kit so you can build one without thinking or understanding anything. If you want it for cheap, self source and DIY, that's the whole point, that's why the files are free.

  • I'm running klipper for my Ender 3 with almost that exact same config on a 2008 STI IS1415. It also manages to run i3 with qutebrowser without a hiccup. Compared to the Pi 3B+ I had before, I get a keyboard and screen to control the printer without running to my desktop on the other room, and the integrated wifi is actually pretty decent, it even shows the camera feed smoothly.

  • Hot.

  • I mean, they clearly need a graphics designer...

  • Arch or EndeavourOS (Arch for babies) should give you the best support for any new hardware.
