The show was canceled at some point before hitting it big. On Conan O'Brien Needs a friend, Rashida Jones said the president of NBC had canceled it before boarding a plane, thought about it over the course of the flight, and decided to uncancel it after the plane landed.
The Office was canceled too, and apparently video on-demand numbers on iPod brought it back.
Hmm… I read your edit, and I think you're kinda overlooking the hard truth here: you can come up with a list of 1,000 things players "have to" do, but if the game doesn't enforce them, they're not gonna happen.
You can rant out of frustration all you want, but you have no control over anyone except yourself, and trying to tell people what to do will only piss them off.
You're also making a lot of baseless assumptions. How do you know how much they enjoy the game? Maybe they choose to engage with the parts they like and leave the rest out, they're happy this way, and the game lets them. Who are you to tell them what to do?
Again, ranting is fine, but you gotta have self-awareness, otherwise you're gonna get nothing but negative reactions.
Delisted in December, unfortunately. They didn't even bother giving us one final deep sale before pulling it. Cheapest it's ever been is $24, IIRC.
This and Transformers: Devastation are top of my Steam wishlist, but the chances of their coming back is nonexistent. Like, I have played them through other means, but I'd love to have them in my Steam library and go for the 100%.
Question: has his series ascended to action status yet, or is it still an action RPG?
Another way to ask this: does freedom of expression in combat come from combat mechanics or character build? I'm assuming it's still a combo, but 2 and 3 feel as if they're leaning more towards action than RPG.
I don't necessarily have any problem with action RPGs, but I'd be more inclined to add it to my wishlist if combat takes more from Ninja Gaiden than it does from Dark Souls.
Damn, you should steer clear of Japanese action games then.
Further, yes, I expect all products to tell me about their features.
Oh, really? I should get my money back from 20th Century Fox… they didn't tell me Fight Club had the twist feature at the end. Thank you for pointing that out.
I cannot believe I had to discover it myself as I was watching the movie. Bizarre stuff.
When I buy a new game, I'm excited to launch it and play it ASAP. The idea of buying any game I don't care enough to play ASAP is… unfathomable to me.
Especially in a world where most games hit their historical low at least once every 3 months. It's not like it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy them for cheap or something.
(P.S. I'm not trying to be obtuse, or a smartass. 君の名は。 is called "your name." outside of Japan. I simply prefer to use the original title as a personal choice, and I can pronounce it correctly as well (something like "key-me no nye-wah." The literal translation is "what's your name?" which is where the international title comes from. I also prefer to watch it in Japanese without subtitles, despite it being fully translated to English as an option. I don't know Japanese. I've just seen it enough to know exactly what's going on at all times.)
There's no reason not to type 君の名は (Your Name) and the literal translation is "Your name is…"
"What's your name?" is the implied meaning, not the literal translation.
Also, both the production and distribution companies are Japanese, and must have signed off on the English title. You can use it.
Hmm… so how do you know you're going to enjoy the games you're buying if they sit in your library past the refund window? Do you not worry they may end up being unplayable bloat "polluting" your library? Or do you have a super broad taste and you enjoy everything?
I ask because I have a small library not because I'm worried about a backlog or whatever, but because I'm trying to make sure (1) I'm not needlessly spending money on games I don't enjoy and (2) I really enjoy looking at my library and going: "Damn, I could launch any of these games right now and have a great time!" which wouldn't be true if I have a bunch of shit I don't enjoy playing and can't refund.
I suppose I could permanently delete them from my library, but that doesn't give me my money back. And it's not like I'm buying expensive games either—most of my purchases are under $10.
Hmm… sure, yes. I wouldn't say it's flawed, but I'd say it's different, and I much prefer the Japanese way of doing things here where it feels I'm precisely choreographing a movie fight instead of doing as much damage as possible to anyone in my immediate vicinity.
I'd still say GoW3 is peak western action, and quite fun to play. I would not rank it on the same level as DMC5, Ninja Gaiden II, or Bayonetta, but I'd rank it fairly close—like a step or two behind.
As of the franchise as a whole, yeah, it's not the best, but many franchises aren't, TBH. I love Bayonetta, for example, but that franchise is all over the place. It's almost GoW backwards… higher peak than GoW, for sure, but still messy overall.
