  • Made the mistake of buying a Xiaomi for my wife. Fuck that phone. Everything that comes stock on the phone contains ads. Some you can turn off, some you can't.

    Fuck Xiaomi.

  • Very cute. You can hand out an extra treat on my account. Dogs are amazing.

  • Wages or health insurance are a very known cost, with a known return. At some point the curve flattens and the return gets less and less for the money you put in. That means there is a sweet spot, but most companies don't even want to invest that much to get to that point.

AI however, is the next new thing. It's gonna be big, huge! There's no telling how much profit there is to be made!

Because nobody has calculated any profits yet. Services seem to run at a loss so far.

However, everybody and their grandmother is into it, so lots of companies feel the pressure to do something with it. They fear they will no longer be relevant if they don't.

And since nobody knows how much money there is to be made, every company is betting that it will be a lot. Where wages and insurance are a known cost/investment with a known return, AI is not, but companies are betting the return will be much bigger.

I'm curious how it will go. Either the bubble bursts or companies slowly start to realise what is happening and shift their focus to the next thing. In the latter case, we may eventually see some AI develop that is useful.

  • I have the three others, I'll probably buy this if it's not too hefty priced.

  • Imagine if they get hacked. They would never tell..or they would lose their whole customer base. Although they would still have their data I guess..

  • What was that famous saying again? Something about developers making things idiot -proof and the universe producing bigger idiots?

  • They just made an assessment what it costs to fight vs what it costs to just kiss his ass and hope it will pass. The outcome is obvious.

  • It's not a fair game at all anymore. It's also pretty diffult to do it otherwise. No sane person will risk their live everytime they go hunt. Used to be that way, but no more.

It has gone from a necessity to something people do for sport, but there is hardly any sport to it when you can't really lose. Well, I guess you could be a really bad shot and go home with nothing?

  • I don't hunt. Don't care for it, had no possibility to either.

But, we as a species have had thousands of years where the man went out to hunt for food for his family. This instinct is still there, even though it is no longer necessary. But I'd imagine that is the reason that hunters hunt. It's an activity we have been wired to do.

Some of us found other ways to "hunt", like gaming, or chasing work goals, basically anything that will require you to focus for a while on one single thing with a clearly defined goal to get to. But I can imagine if you are raised in family where hunting is still done, it would be easy to pick it up for yourself.

  • The whole Gaza situation is a wasp's nest that nobody should poke without knowing damn sure what they are doing. There are multiple big players playing chess with other people's life there, and you could lose a lot.

But given the complexity the chance that the situation is resolved and thus something is won is very small.

Yes, it's terrible what is happening. But unless you have a lot of resources and a big army you are not in a position to muscle all the parties involved into submission, which is what will be required at this point.

  • The ratings would not be through the roof. Although they might be richt people, they are still people. Naturally people are social creatures who don't like to see other humans suffer greatly.

Yes, people are cruel, but seeing people dieing and suffering is not something most people will willingly seek out unless they are already depressed or traumatized.

I certainly won't be watching. Now just taking their money, leaving them enough to still live a life and then improving the world, I would be watching that.

But I really do not understand why people hate rich people so much. Yes, Bozos is an asshole for exploiting employees and treating them really bad, but that is about his actions and everything that flows from that. His money alone would not make me hate him.

  • This was actually a very interesting and informative read, thank you. I learned some things.

  • I remember that scene. If I remember, he broke the handcuffs shortly after, without any trouble at all.

But yes, the situation in America is very shortly and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

  • Funny. I follow some creators, but if they don't post I'll just check back later, and the content will still be relevant.

If your followers just leave you if you don't post, your content is probably shallow and doesn't really add much value to the world.

The algorithm is also fucked, but you use it to your advantage when you can, so can you really complain about the downside? This is what you choose to work with.

That being said, making good content is hard and really time consuming. So I get that there is stress.

But I believe if you make good solid content that suits you and your style, you don't need to get into a pissing contest with the algorithm. Upload when you want, make what you want and you will attract viewers. They are out there, and they will find you through searching.

  • Or maybe they have been playing us for fools and the real ninja's are actually much different but we will never know because we are tricked by the fake ones.

  • Just curious, what is the alternative you propose? We have seen communism, that doesn't work either.

In my country we also have capatalism but we still have workers rights and all of that. It is just in America that employers managed to get everything their way. Other countries have free markets without abusing their workers.

  • Well it was fun seeing Trump on the other side of the tariffs I suppose. Responded exactly as one would expect.
