“Oh no the evil company we refuse to do anything about didn’t get less evil by themselves. Quick, ban something Chinese!”
“Oh no the evil company we refuse to do anything about didn’t get less evil by themselves. Quick, ban something Chinese!”
So bad it can only be told in a youtube video apparently. Hard pass, you’re not trying to spread awareness, you’re trying to farm engagement.
He could get locked up and nailed under the floorboards tomorrow and it would still be beyond unacceptable how long a child fucker was allowed to be a part of the federal legislative body. I hope he gets everything he earned, any way it comes to him.
Im used to idiots, I’ll be fine. Not voting doesn’t magicaly cause either candidate to need more votes. Thats simply not how math works, it just doesnt add anything. If you have to walk 10 miles and I decide not to carry you one mile, you don’t end up having to walk 11 miles.
Its absolutly untrue that sitting our support Trump. By definition it supports no one. It doesn’t change the numbe of votes either candidate needs to win, it simply doesn’t add anything to either. This is quite literally mathematically true.
Also there is always a default. Default is what happens if you do nothing or change nothing, which means by necessity default is not voting. Thats how defining a default works. In fact, US citizens arent even registered to vote by default, you have to do it yourself. Thats why people have been pushing automatic voter registration.
Only if you assume their vote is owed to some candidate instead of earned. They could just as easily sit out, like the majority of the US does. The default is voting for no one, thus nowhere does this reduce votes any candidate needs. You cannot assume the default is voting for the candidate YOU like, and that any deviation from that is ‘taking votes away’ from someone who never earned them it the first place. They were never Harris’ votes to begin with.
So you’re just making things up about Trump to be mad at instead of directing that at the literal guy abeding the genocide because you want to deflect criticism away from the people who are in charge? And you think this is helpful? Do you go into threads about Trump and talk about what Blinken does?
The adults in the room are talking about someone who is currently using their position in the government to abed a genocide they knew about. What the fuck does any of that have to do with Trump?

Largest in history, awarded world record. Sorry your memory is off but it wasn’t Vietnam.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protests_against_the_Iraq_War
36 million protested
In the United States, even though pro-war demonstrators have been quoted as referring to anti-war protests as a “vocal minority”,[4] Gallup Polls updated September 14, 2007, state, "Since the summer of 2005, opponents of the war have tended to outnumber supporters.
Exactly what I told you, the Bush wars solidified ths anit war electorate as the actual majority. Can you look at the facts now? They stopped voting on war once the antiwar electorate was big enough to stop them.
Heres a source for the largest demonstration in history. It even won a world record for it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_February_2003_anti-war_protests
I feel like the head of a Union giving an endorsement to someone the minority of their members want isn’t a good look either, press would be horrible and likely make Harris look worse. Unions are supposed to be Democratic, not a hierarchy. Seeing Individual branches from battleground states endorsing Harris, like florida, to me is way stronger of a story than letting republicans run with calling things fixed because a national union spoke over the majority of it’s members.
Vietnam was stopped because the US was getting it’s ass kicked and found themselves unable to unravel the ho chi minh trail. The protests against Bushes war in the middle east were the largest protests in the world at the time they happened and we stayed for another two decades because we were still making money. So if public backlash worked, we would have been out of Afghanistan by 2004. But it doesn’t. Profit works.
See how the largest antiwar protest in US history lines up with Wars being started without congressional approval now? Modern antiwar sentiment started during vietnam, they weren’t a majority until much later.
If the US didn’t have the military we have our credit would have been downgraded even further. Hell if Europe didn’t need our military production right now, we’d probably lose credit rating. The entirety of sustained US international revalance is hinged on the fact that that we can kill anyone better than they can kill us.
Russia used the private actors in Donbas as their pretense for invasion too.
War is Peace, Genocide is defense, and colonization is progress. Just don’t ask about all those brown kids.
Funny how once theres a serious slate of the electorate that wants to stop war, things magically change like the Supreme Court handing Bush 2 an underserved victory, and congress somehow no long required to vote before wars. You we’re never supposed to have a real choice on this.
Im close with the CFO of a local company. One of three local companies owned by the same CEO, and the entire accounting department stopped trying to tell him all his ideas are straight up just illegal or tax fraud and instead silently fix everything in the background and deal with him after the numbers stop being a threat to their existence outside of jail. People like Trump are not the exception to CEOs they’re the rule.
Its hilarious to me that Iran handled the assassination of their top general more gracefully than the Republicans handled losing an election.
Average lemmy world user. Yall call people tankies the same way maga calls people socialists.
