  • I'm mobile and can't verify anything, but if you trust a goggle AI Overview then here you go.

The word "flotilla" originates from the Spanish word flotilla, a diminutive form of flota meaning "fleet". This, in turn, came from Old French floter and ultimately Germanic roots, like Old Norse floti ("raft, fleet") and Old English flota ("ship" or "fleet"), which are ancestors of the English word "float". The English term "flotilla" was adopted in 1711 and refers to a small fleet, especially of small naval vessels like destroyers or submarines. Here's a breakdown of the word's origin: Spanish: Flotilla (diminutive of flota, meaning "fleet"). Old French: Floter ("to float, set afloat"). Germanic: Old Norse floti ("raft, fleet") and Old English flota ("ship, fleet"). Indo-European: Traced back to the root pleu- ("to flow"). The English word "flotilla" was first recorded in 1711.

  • Turning?

  • There was a pro-nazi movement in the U.S. in the 1930's. They had a nazi rally in Madison Square Garden. The nazis went underground for the most part after the U.S. entered WW2.

  • I get the centralization concerns, but I would think that's on the consumer since there are other options. As for the fascist content, as another commenter said, they could risk their safe harbor if they started stated regulating content that they weren't legally required to regulate.

    Just my thoughts.

  • I'm out of the loop, what's wrong with cloud flare?

  • This. Everybody wanted it to be AGI right out of the gate. It's just a tool, like Photoshop. It will get better over time but it's not the end all be all.

  • Mandatory showers upon arrival, I'm sure.

  • When I saw the ad for this on my Roku I thought it was just some western channel based on the name and color scheme. It wasn't until I saw an article about it that I even knew what it was. I looked into it, my thoughts are, terrible branding, terrible marketing, terrible discovery on the website.

I don't see anything that I don't already own that I would want to watch, but since the website search sucks I don't know if there's more to see or not.

Based on all that, I'm not even willing to blow $2.99 one time to see if it gets better in the app because I doubt it will.

  • This just gave me an idea, every website, blog, ect. should post a full text copy of the constitution. Hell I have a blog I don't post on that much, I might do this after work.

  • Signal has already stated that they will pull out of the UK if they go through with their version of this, I imagine they'll say the same for the EU.

Get a good VPN, exit it from a non-5 eyes country, and hope they don't start blocking by phone number alone.... and hopefully they'll drop the phone number requirement sooner than later.

    Also, welcome to Signal!

  • Crypto (ETH and the like) is useful for it's protocol, you can build projects on it.

Bitcoin is a good store of value, and with lightning payments starting to be accepted it could be a good way to pay for goods and services. The third world is currently using lightning to circumvent inflationary currency swings.

  • It wasn't a direct reference, but definitely inspired by Dr. cox.

  • I mean he could just make the platform "we'll unblock the porn" and nothing else and win a majority in the first election.

  • While true, they are worried that people will spend money on drugs and those aren't taxable, that's what they're really talking about.

  • User: Hey AI how do we solve climate change?

AI: Sure thing, I've updated a comprehensive report with a step by step guide to accomplish your goal of solving climate change. Just click this file to download it: SkyNet.exe

  • True but it does help new viewers catch up so maybe we put up with it for the greater good.

  • It was the first one that came to mind that also fit the age range, that's all. Hopefully someone else can explain it better than I can.

  • Well I was alive back then and remember that she was in her early 20's when it happened. I was just using the military age and recruiters as an example of something that people around that age encounter than also has a power dynamic.

  • Not defending what Clinton did but she was old enough to sign a military contract. I don't see anyone calling for military recruiters to be pulled out of schools and dismissed from the service for the power plays and down right lies they employ in highschools and college campuses.
