In the very beginning, .ml had the unique vibe of a truly decentralized international community with thousands of people from all over the world with different worldviews, leading to fiery and thought-provoking discussions in threads. Unfortunately, it is now actively turning into a hexbear/grad style far-left echo chamber.

I read this thread yesterday before it was deleted and the article in original post was looking like fake news. Even on .world where this post still exists, highly upvoted comments are disqualifying one of two sources of this artice (and second one is report in anonimous telegram channel). So i wasn’t surprised when i discovered that this thread was deleted as “misinfo”.

But i must admit that neither this post nor db0/yogsothoth discussion contained anything that could be labeled as chauvinistic. Therefore, it was shocking to see in modlog that the author of the post was banned for “chauvinism”.

And another moment that comes to mind is the hexbear/dbzer0 drama, when a meme posted in piracy community by hexbear user was deleted by dbzer0 admin for equally far-fetched and flimsy reason. It seems strange to call .ml admins “Power Trippin’ Bastards” for doing exactly the same thing that your teammates do on your own instance.

While absence of China in Top 10 may be somehow explained by The Great Firewall, the absence of India, Turkey and Russia is totally implausible. Or they might be scanning only torrents of movies with English audio.

If you gonna host torrent tracker with pirate content then VDSina is reasonable choice and i’m using their service for the same purprose. Their help section clearly says that they would ignore any copyright infrigement complaint which is not enforced by Russian police or court what effectively means that US/GB/EU authorities have no chance to bother you. Obviously you should choose their Moscow servers, not Amsterdam ones (which they also offer). I have no idea if they accept Monero payments but they definately allow to pay in some cryptocurrencies.

I have no issue with your blocklist (and not gonna downvote your comment), but i still have to say that your position is pretty strange. Why at all join lemmy.ml which is known as real Babel tower with wide range of different opinions without any of them being dominant or enforced (and that differs .ml from .world, beehaw, hexbear, lemmygrad and so on)? If you need echo chamber, you can join other instance or get back to reddit, no reason to wait someone to code some functions.

Ukraine:

• closed border for all males;
• non-stop involuntary draft of unwilling citizens;
• resorts to conscripting HIV positives and people with mental health issues.

Russia:

• first wave of forced mobilization ended half year ago, second wave still not started;
• still has open border for most citizens (which actually helped a lot of them to avoid first wave of mobilization).

In alternative reality created by western massmedia this definately means that Russia is short of manpower. In world of logical thinking this actually means something else.

Yes, Ukrainian soldiers on front line are worried about cancer and birth defects. They are rational human beings who hope to return to their homes and live long lives and grow healthy children, not some subhumans with only intent to kill, kill, kill, as you wish to think.
