  • You should make one. It could be fun to make.

Since how you define something as being one political leaning over another is subjective (mostly), You could allow community to label the outlets and let it reflect current views and use feddy protocol, so you can have multiple aggregators that have different labels.

  • Can't understand this, you'll have to simplify.

If you mean to say socialism is communism lite. Sure, that's exactly what it is. That's a good transitory model.

Direct transition is susceptible to hijacking by fascists.

  • I am trekkie then. I want a post scarcity future where EVERYONE is equal and all we care about is exploring space.

  • It's more socialism than communism. But ofcourse depends on which side of lemmy you are on.

  • I could see an alternative where the community curates and assigns the political learnings.

But yeah, otherwise it is just a service.

  • These are all problems humans already have and try to get around. A few adventurous and entrepreneurial dwarves is all it would take to kick start the golden age dwarven naval empire.

I am looking at this from a fun world building viewpoint and I find this idea exciting.

  • I doubt people on lemmy are below the age of 20, give or take.

  • We need some sort of fediverse Wikipedia. No one entity should control such an expansive book of knowledge.

  • Well with the support that's come from mainstream gaming influencers, I hope the opinion has swayed in the opposite direction.

  • Isn't that a win win tho? Less live service games?

The industry is already horrible to work in.

  • He did recently mention that you can't do political ads on YouTube, but he was rather more perturbed at the idea of navigating through the legal and financial system of EU, owing to his own personal troubles with them.

He might have changed his mind based on new info, idk. But he clearly doesn't want to get involved anymore than he needs to because it's very taxing.

  • I think the main reason he didn't want to take money was because he himself doesn't think can handle such a campaign or lacks the will to do so.

  • Dunno, seems like a global problem. European car companies are scared too. And they don't make those big cars.

The only issue I see is that china is very hostile with how it deals with other countries, otherwise this is just the trend of how things work out. In the 80s, it was the japanese car industry.

  • Even if they changed how would they win?

They're just too expensive to manufacture as compared to chinese ones.

  • Yeah, but as far as I can tell there's hasn't been malware in fitgirl repacks. So, I suppose I am outsourcing my vetting to them.

It's really a question of how much effort I want to put in finding a different source that's not dangerous. The extra time it takes to unpack them is okay then.

GOG games is fine as well, but they don't have everything and direct downloads aren't always stable for me.

  • I trust fitgirl repacks from the official sources.

Direct downloads and other sources need to be vetted.

  • The initiative's issue isn't with them being online-only (though personally people hate it). The initiative aims for games to have the ability to have a reasonable state of playability past the end of life.

This is for all kinds of games - single-player, multiple player, live service, only only. The point is to keep what you paid for.

  • What do you mean?

Changing the design happens during the pre-production. This will not effect any games retroactively. As unfortunate as it is, until the EU parliament decides on a law or regulation all games destined to die will die.

Any games that are grandfathered in, would be done so by the good will of the corporations if they do wish to.

  • It was supposed to be a joke, but just look at them.

Of course, this isn't Socio-economics, but RACISM against WHITE people!
