  • self delusion, an inherent tendency to assign fucked up values to people, years of adjusting to a work culture where it's normalized to fight detainees for sport.

there's a pipeline but the selection process starts by picking people who just desire power over others

  • not to them

  • is it really not cheaper to just stop paywalling parts of the game?

  • 🤮 why would they televise themselves doing this. have some self respect and keep that shit behind closed doors

  • let's not get in to what I think billionaires should do

  • really surprising, they've been given similar choices before and have historically fought against the 2a rights of minorities

  • all you need is to take 1 down with you when you go. and for them to know that 1 of them isn't going home.

  • slow news day, gotta keep the zone flooded

  • I remember a small amount of hype for this game when the Armored Core community was going hollow, waiting for Fires of Rubicon to be announced.

Weird game, I wonder if it's gotten any better since then

  • not hard to do, I played it muted and with the captions off to spare myself from all that quirked up millennial dialogue.

    pretty good like that, honestly

  • fuck dude. how do you make that up to him?

  • That's true, cars are regulated in ways you'd think would make sense to map onto gun. I've live some places though where I would even call auto regulations harmful for people trying to survive there. But you raise a excellent point, I'm as guilty as anyone of contempt for people over a certain age having access to freeway. There's some deep ageism within me I need to address and there's an issue societally to examine about how to handle the issue. My gut instinct is to immediately say that's different from 2a but I can't think of a compelling reason why it is.

Sweden and Switzerland kind of sound like my personal ideal actually. That's a good system and I'd be happy seeing combined with an economic setting that made that training available to everyone.

  • it definitely tries too hard and looses its punch since it's trying to bL0w y0uR MiNd. also the dead wife scenes are really goddamn cringe. but there was something about the film I've been waiting years to talk about that was really cool.

all of the detective's interactions with the island staff are duplicitous in a way that is really chilling once you've already seen the movie once. I swear that dumpster fire is worth actually watching twice because of how ::: spoiler Tap for spoiler it depicts people interacting with someone they know is hallucinating and consider a menace. they're simultaneously exhausted with his bullshit and also obligated with his care and also deeply afraid of him. they're cruel at times but also clearly victimized regularly by him. it's a cutting depiction of what working in the health sector can look like in some of its worst moments, even if the movie can't help itself from trying to be dramatic. :::

hate it, definitely recommended. it's stupid, but good. also Leo plays a character with the exact same baggage again in Inception a year later which is funny.

  • Causing droughts like an Egyptian plague? yeah that's fine. Having a tryst within six months of a social media buzz about CEO trysts? skibido scrammo your job is kablammo

  • it's kind of been a thing for a while. if you want a freaky reality check about the weird shit they casually do to your accounts, just lurk in one of the r/modhelp adjacent subs for a day. they just casually advise each other how to do stuff that other people on other subs don't think is real

  • some college kids dyed their hair and now I can't say n words 😣

  • you're both right. these are the prongs on the spear that's about to mentally eviscerate a lot of people. the other one being the lack of available healthcare but everyone already knew that.

  • wow, Pete's turn getting his skull measured came sooner than I thought. I thought they'd get rid of the racial minorities first
