Last I checked he was the richest person on the planet. Couldn't he just pay the protestors more than what they are paid now to make them stop protesting?
It's actually a great example of the difference between movies and reality. In most movies the evil people "know" that they are evil, they want to be evil. In reality evil mostly comes from people thinking they are doing the "right" thing, which has to be done, while ignoring their empathy or being incapable of empathy.
The Weimarer Republic was a very young democracy, it existed only for 15 years and before that Germany was a monarchy. Trump is dismantling the oldest democracy at the moment
Thats somehow so upside down philosophically. In human history we established states and gave them the monopoly of violence, so that we don't crush each others heads all the time (at least inside the state) or so that some guy who is stronger or has better weapons can't just take all our stuff because he wants to.
How is a nuclear meltdown not the fault of nuclear power? Of course you can prevent it by being super careful and stuff, but it is inherent to nuclear power that it is super dangerous. What is the worst that can happen with a wind turbine? It falls, that's it.
I think fighting billionaires in their wallets is the exact wrong way because they have so much money it doesn't even affect their personal life when they lose 90% or more of their wealth.
Musk already is in a position of power which no money of the world can (or maybe should) buy you. So even if he loses all his money he will still have that power and continue to abuse it.
Not everyone follows social media or the news like you. And not everyone bases their buying decisions on the personality of the company's CEO. I think most people don't. And probably most CEOs are douchebags
I mean I can understand doing this outside the US, but in the US there are much better ways to protest then destroying private property. I mean even if this would somehow get rid of Musk completely you still have a fascists government with Project 2025. This only helps to divide the American people further and the people in charge propably are happy to see it and simply will exploit this division further.
Which makes me worried. A country with a declining economy but the largest military in the world is almost certain to project its inner problems outwards in form of war. The best the world can hope for is another civil war inside the US.
It's funny because just last week I had a work call with middle management were we ended up screaming at each other.
