I only have 1080p atm, but was planning on upgrading my monitor. I’m still debating on what to do really. My mobo is already future proof, and I have 32 gigs of RAM. I saw an open box 6700 XT going around 250, so tbh I might just wait for the gen after this one or something before I upgrade the monitor and get a new GPU. Only issue is that I want to go SFF, so I wonder if the next gen would even fit in this thing. The Terra can fit up to 320 mm, but it still scares me.

As someone who’s trying to completely avoid Discord, it’s quite frustrating how many communities and projects will put important information in their Discords, and nowhere else. You have to have an account to see it, and it also isn’t searchable in a search engine. It is actually quite terrible for pretty much everyone.

Element/Matrix lets you peek into public chats and servers/spaces without an account, so it can definitely be done. They won’t do it though, because they gotta make you feel dat FOMO lol.

I think the issue with dubbing any music anime is the music. You either keep it in JP or dub it, neither of which is very optimal. Due to differences in industry you often aren’t going to find suitable replacements of the same quality for the vocalists, and leaving it in JP is hella awkward and immersion breaking. It’s a pretty big lose lose.

Ruroni Kenshin is a pretty dark historical war story when it gets going fully, I really don’t think a child should watch that. The beginning is intentionally deceptive for narrative reasons. The newer one is a lot more upfront with it.

Dragon Ball is extremely inappropriate, If I were in that position I would not want my daughter to watch that and mimick ANY of the behavior Bulma commits. Especially with Roshi. The super fanservicey stuff gets cut off around Z or slightly before, but OG will shock you if you haven’t read or watched it in a while.

For my pick, it’s hard to list anything super similar minus what was already mentioned. As a cool anime for female empowerment I’d pick Bocchi the Rock, anime about a girl overcoming social anxiety to fulfill her dream of becoming a rock star. All female cast pretty much, no fanservice, pure comedy, good story, and rockin music. There’s like one or two inappropriate jokes that’ll fly over a kid’s head, but most children shows in America had worse.

As an American who has to hear about shootings pretty consistently, I’d like to say the fear can be pretty justified. I don’t really know what it’s like to live in a world without guns and their presence, so it’s hard to imagine life without the necessity of them to protect yourself. It’s just one of those things that’s hard to understand unless you’ve lived in it I guess.
