What did I miss?
I have a pixel 8, and a pixel 6 before that. The same bugs have followed me the whole time. I guess PiP, keyboard, bubbles, and graphical issues just aren’t being worked on. I’m waiting on Apple sideloading updates before I’m upgrading, but this is a piece of shit. I would try another OS, but I am afraid of getting banking apps and Google Fi working.
If it’s your flag, do what you want. If it’s a flag owned by another person, you should ask for permission
I was exaggerating a little. I guess I should say I only get my political memes from Lemmy. Every other source I follow is quite serious
I don’t get it. (Lemmy is my only source of political news)
Technically Trump has (at least) one former presidential endorsement… Does he not endorse himself? I guess he also endorses her with the money he donated years ago
Can you tell me more about that TV?
I see the same thing daily. I usually take it as a sign to quit scrolling and do something else. It’s a feature, not a bug.
If you do compile something, it is very easy to make it an installable package you could share. I’m not sure how the repos are managed
I chose to set up grafana, mqtt, etc for an RV instead of home assistant. Little more lightweight for the raspberry pi 3 I used. Pulling together solar info, so we could see how long the AC would keep running on the road
KiCAD for circuit boards FreeCAD to import those boards and do everything else
Mint is great. It also works well out of the box in virtual machines. I like the MATE versions for my older machines.
There is a major shift happening right now, and mint is slower than many to adopt changes. I’d argue that’s good for mint users, but it may be bad for you personally if you plan to learn about modern linux. Idgaf personally about X11 vs Wayland, because I just need to be able to use my programs.
Framework. They even have a factory seconds store, if you don’t need a perfect screen.
I mainly use them when I want something windowed but without tabs taking up space. Like monitoring my solar panels
Any idea how to get links clicked in a PWA like Google Messages to open in a normal browser tab? I’ve tried nothing.
If you are concerned about things like PWAs like I was, try it out anyway. PWAs require a bit more setup, but are a lot more flexible in Firefox. For example, PWAs with http connections have a huge banner in Chrome, and just an icon in Firefox. Everything I’ve noticed is that firefox is just as snappy as Chrome
Ah yes the classic “why are you using a feature, it’s your fault for wanting it to work”. Thanks. So helpful.
If a practically brand new flagship like the Pixel 6 has more bugs than an ancient iPhone XR, I don’t think base Android can survive much longer. Basic functionality like YouTube PiP and theming glitch out regularly. Not to mention extended features like bubbles in Messages being broken since day one. Sure, I can sideload on Android, but if that comes to iPhone…
I can’t seem to make $200 per year for a device work out with Android anymore. The pixel 6 should last 3 years in my opinion, but support for the 6 has been limited since the pixel 7 came out. Even at $900, I think the iPhone could prove to be a better deal with 6 years of support backed by a history of keeping such promises. USB-C, RCS, Sideloading are all I’ve been waiting for.
I’m pretty close to switching to iPhone.
