I built a new PC two months ago and it’s the first time I didn’t get Office. Libre Office has everything I need and it’s free.

The Ryzen 7 5700G only supports PCIe 3.0. Your GPU is PCIe 4.0 so you may lose some frames as the connection will be downgraded to PCIe 3.0. Same for your SSD, it will be downgraded to a PCIe 3.0 connection.
I have a 6750 XT, although it’s the Asus Dual version. Goes hard. I use it for 1440p gaming and it’s performing well. (Has some coil whine in certain scenarios, though.)
Finally, unless you are really set on the ITX form factor it may be worth going to micro ATX. It will be cheaper and you’ll get better cooling in a larger case.
You can turn that off in Group Policy if you have the Pro version of Windows.
Pog
Yeah, I built my new PC around 2 months ago. Maybe they are cheaper elsewhere but here in Australia they are very expensive. :(
256TB? That’s huge! How about an affordable 8TB SSD though? I ended up going with a HDD as a secondary drive because it was like a quarter of the price of high capacity SSDs.
And so it begins
30 new ships in a year? I doubt it. I mean, they can’t even afford to keep one aircraft carrier running.
This post is a few days old but I thought I’d mention that I recently bought Win 11 Pro OEM here: https://software.pcworld.com/
Apparently this is a legit licence unlike the grey-market ones you can get off Kinguin or something like that.
I’ll have to disagree there. When you Favourite a post, the person that posted it gets a notification about the fact, while if you Bookmark something no notification is sent. In effect you are telling the person that you “Liked” their post.
Also, looking at the Explore section of Mastodon the following message is shown at the top of the feed:
These are posts from across the social web that are gaining traction today. Newer posts with more boosts and favorites are ranked higher.
So those Favourites are used by the algorithm to rank posts. Bookmarks are totally private and only used to save posts for your own use.
I don’t see it that way. There are separate options to Favourite or Bookmark a post. To me Bookmarking something is so you can refer to it later, although nothing is stopping you using Favourites that way.
They are very expensive and not everyone has a garage where they can charge them. I can only park on the street so I would have to go to a charging point and sit in my car for the whole time it charges. Not as convenient as pumping petrol into my car for 2 minutes.
I would get a 2TB SSD instead of 1TB. The size of games these days is insane!
I saw your other reply in this thread. I personally would go for the new 6650 XT. I don’t like buying used parts as I feel I’m buying a part with a reduced lifespan, and I feel the 6650 XT is plenty for 1080p.
Oh, I see. In that case, are you going for 1080p at 60fps or do you have a monitor with a higher framerate? If you are aiming for 60fps then the 6700XT is probably overkill.
Get the RX 6700 XT and get a 1440p monitor. 1440p at High settings looks way better than 1080p at Ultra settings. I have the 6750 XT and play in 1440p and I’m so glad I chose that over 1080p.
It’s from the r/196 subreddit. The rule is that you must post before you leave so people often label their post “Rule”. 196 is the equivalent community on Lemmy.
There is a save button, looks like a star (on the desktop Lemmy).
What tutorial?
I don’t think they make money. It’s an open source project where people donate their time as far as I know.
EDIT: I forgot to mention you can donate to the project. Something has to pay for web hosting, I guess.
