Large collateral damage is a percentage.
An attack that targets and harms mostly combatants with little collateral damage is not indiscriminate. I’m curious what the ratio of combatants to noncombatants is before arguing whether this attack was a war crime.
Your account name is me trying to spell Dijkstra

The anti-Trump, let’s hope these two won’t collide
Note:
He never said that. This quote is from William Pannapacker, a professor of American literature at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

Yeah, that does make Churchill a genocidal British imperialist but not an autocrat.
Not that that’s any better - but the original comment claimed not holding elections in tines of war => autocracy.
I don’t really know about other democratic nations in WW2 that suspended elections - like 3/4 of Europe had their governments dissolved and couldn’t quite hold elections.
Pearl Harbor is not a city, is it?
I’ve checked nearly every single link from Wikipedia in that list, there were a handful of attacks on American villages. Not a single city was ever attacked (except for maybe Washigton by the Brits) - or rather seriously attacked.
I don’t really take
Casualties:
seriously, considering that attacks on cities usually end horribly for civilians.
Fair enough
But during WW2 Britain didn’t hold elections. Did this turn Britain into an autocracy?
And by the way, you literally can’t hold elections if the aggressor is certain to attack polling stations. The US never had this threat, neither during the Civil War nor during WW2. Not a single US city was ever attacked by an enemy nation.
Young has always trended liberal
Good luck with that in the future, seriously. Try keeping it that way for as long as possible.
In Germany at least, the biggest supporters of the nazi party are 18-24 year olds since social media, TikTok in particular, strongly promotes them. 38% of their votes (by gender: 46% men, 30% women) in one of the recent state elections went to them. Those are unprecedented amounts in a system with proportional representation.
Ships should suffice with a 100 kB/s connection which already existed before Starlink. You don’t usually need to send tons of data.
Additionally, Starlink is currently only offered to a single island nation without submarine fibre-optic cable, the Easter Islands. Although they may get submarine fibre somewhere after 2026 anyways because that is when a new cable will be laid closeby.
When do you need faster ocean communication, besides luxury? Nobody is owned fast internet on an environment-destroying luxury cruiseship.
Oh you mean server-side encryption? I’m fairly certain that Telegram is already handing out these keys anyway, since every country has laws regarding that. Server-side encryption is worth jack shit
What decryption keys even, group chats cannot be encrypted and private chats are unencrypted by default and even encrypted chats shouldn’t have the encryption key stored on any servers unless there is a backdoor.
Telegram has public groups which function nearly identical to social media. Signal does not.
If Amazon AWS began hosting nazi websites and refused to take them down, should the CEO be arrested? I’d say yes.
Has anyone actually read the article? It mentions Discord once, in passing.
It’s about how iframes used to promote upcoming games/games by the same publisher aren’t allowed anymore. This has negative implications towards indie devs because upcoming games in particular are less likely to be recommended already and in order to get into the “New and Upcoming” tab, a certain amount of wishlists is required.
Fewer wishlists => fewer recommendations => fewer wishlists
It’s a little more specific, I think the patent is about:
But that’s still something multiple games have done in some way I think.
