Happy July! For Americans it’s looking like a 4-day weekend (if you’re taking Monday off that is), and that means lots of time to play games!
Personally, I’m looking forward to hopefully finishing Horizon: Forbidden West. See where I’m at specifically in the spoiler section.
Minor Horizon spoilers
I’ve trapped Hephaestus and am currently in one of the Zenith’s art galleries. I had to stop here mid-mission during my last gaming session, but this looks to be the climax of the story, so I am very excited to see how this unfolds!
After that, I might just dive right into the Burning Shores DLC, or maybe deviate to The Pathless or Tchia, which I picked up on discount recently.
On the family gaming front, my partner and I are just beginning Hogwarts Legacy. Specifically we just got to Hogsmeade for the first time. She’s more of a 2D fan and struggles with the camera in 3rd person games, but she’s determined to play this one as she loves Harry Potter! This one is going to be a really slow burn for us.
How about all of you? What are your plans, and where are you currently in your respective games?
So yesterday after coming back home from work, I started playing Inscryption. I know people say that you should go in blind, and I think I mostly agree, but just for the beginning of the game. Let’s just say that I was completely captivated by the start.

I was massively let down after a couple of hours of playing when the game stopped being a horror roguelike deck builder. I just couldn’t handle such a massive change in gameplay, story and the lack of mystery after beating the first act.
It’s a shame, but I got so bored of it, I just DNFed the game and uninstalled.
Uncharted 3, gave up on the Uncharted 2 final boss. Want to finish the series and play Stray or Final Fantasy.
3 and 4 are the best. I almost didn’t finish 1
I played 1-3 before playing 4 because I heard it would make the story better. They are good games but good god they are so hard to get through haha. The mechanics are so tough. I forgot which game but the jetski level really made me want to quit and just play 4.
Oh god, I have nightmares of the jetski in the first game shivers
Horizon Zero West also. Finished the first game and dlc. Still trying to decide if I like this one. Oh and AEW Fight Forever lol

How’re you liking the VR? Really wanna get one!
Also is there crossplay?

I haven’t picked up a PSVR2 yet. Still waiting for a game that justifies it (for me, I know there’s are great games already) that I haven’t already played on PSVR1 and Quest2
Just finished Death Stranding, kind of a mixed bag, feels like gave it much more of my time than it deserved, but that’s the damn neurotic completionist in me that can’t uninstall a gave without getting the damn platinum. Need to work on it. Loved crossing the terrain, looking for paths, making everything to be more accessible, the whole damn delivering system was quite enjoyable. Fighting and shooting not so much, but can live with those considering they were not the main focus (

that fight with Higgs was such a chore though, did not enjoy a second of it
). And the story well, there were some good ideas there surely but the whole narrative and presentation of it did not have me invested at all. Lack of relatable, sympathetic characters didn’t help either. And what kind of bullshit was that never ending ending? Still, spent almost 100h on it and enjoyed most of it to some extent. Definitely won’t be picking up sequel though.
Started (barely) Hellblade now and wow, they surely now how to pull one such as myself into a story immediately. Too early to be passing any judgement but looks promising.
I’ve just finished the main story and side quests for Iki Island. By far, my favorite part of the game. Really emotional ending (which I won’t spoil), as well.
I’m done with Ghost of Tsushima now, after some 70 hours of non-stop gameplay and getting the Platinum trophy. Will likely give my PS5 a break for the rest of the week while I catch up on books and TV.
I always have to take a week or so off after a great game to let it wash over me before I can dive into the next one. So glad you liked it!
Yeah, it’s time I need to process the story. PS exclusives almost always leave me like this. Like, I couldn’t get into any new game for like 2 months after TLOU2.
That’s why I’m so glad we get banger DLCs like Frozen Wilds, Left Behind and now Iki Island that let me return to those worlds later. I think only Burning Shores was somewhat disappointing. Not because it’s not good, it just doesn’t reach the heights of Frozen Wilds.
TLOU2 hit me so hard! I had to take a similar break. Oh, dont say that about Burning shores, I’m about to start 😭. But I never finished frozen wilds…I might have to go back
Oh, don’t get me wrong. Burning Shores is a solid B+ DLC. It’s just that Frozen Wilds is my favorite ever part of the Horizon franchise!
That’s great! Looks like I’ll be hopping back into frozen wilds at some point!
About 18 hours into Final Fantasy XVI, can’t wait to get home from work
Drive safe!
I’m having such a good time with FF16, it really feels like an active version of FF14
Just finished first Watch Dogs 2 and then Legion and now I’m contemplating having a go at the ps5 version of Spider-Man. I loved it at release on ps4, and the trailers for #2 have me wanting to play it again.
I started Watch Dogs recently but couldn’t get into it, maybe not in the right mood, may give it another try when I am in mood for that style of game.
