I never played the first one. I believe the consensus is that 2 is better and more refined. The gameplay will be different from BG3 also since they made their own system that’s different from DnD. At this point BG3 is gearing up to be their magnum opus. I would just start there. DOS2 is fantastic though.
With all the improvements, going back will be difficult.
The first D:OS got really good reviews, mostly 9/10, the second one is even better. It’s like Zelda: BotW and then TotK. Tears of the Kingdom is so much better than Breath of the Wild, but that doesn’t mean BotW isn’t a must play game. 😀 Of course, there is nothing wrong with just playing TotK, but then you are missing on one of the best games in the genre. And I want to play them all!
So, am I! But I have yet to play Divinity Original Sin and D:OS 2 first 😀 I am so much behind in gaming. I wonder if I’ll ever catch up!
