  • Same here. I occasionally look back at 80s stuff and even the limited animation stuff of the era still made me realize that a whole army of people had to draw all of these by hand. So even if some stuff was 'bad' due to time and budget constraints, the sheer effort they had to put in was incredible.

    For me I use AI for one thing only: furry porn, and stupid furry porn at that. I did write stories and novels before the Trump gang fucked with my creativity in ways I dont want to talk about. Using AI for any serious creative purpose is insulting to me.

  • People often have misconceptions about life expectancy in the past. The reason why it was so low was because of childhood/infant mortality. If you made it past early childhood your chances of living decently long were fine. This is not to say that there weren't tons of hazards. Diseases and medical conditions that are easily avoidable today weren't back then.

    And given what RFK Jr. Is doing now, we will be seeing a resurgence of that in the US today.

  • They never cared about surveillance. If anything they want as much as possible. They just want their guys to be in charge for it. It is like how the people who use the strongest anti-child porn language are also the most likely to get caught with the worst child porn imaginable. You notice how roblox isn't suffering under the new laws despite the laws being explicitly worded to protect children? This is because it was always about monitoring dissidents. Regular criminals will continue to use tech to do regular crime (drug dealing, murder, theft) and a minimal precaution on their end might be sufficient to prevent them from getting caught. They will not be subject to any more new restrictions.

    But protesters? That is what they have always been for. Always.
