They are like kids
I am just a guy trying to make internet ( world ) a better place.
They are like kids
Why?
But that is a double-edged sword. What if, for example, mastodon.social doesn’t defederate with Meta, but you defederate mastodon.social? Now you’ve just cut yourself off from a huge portion of the fediverse. Admins should defederate from Meta if their community wants to do that, but defederating from other instances that didn’t do that is going a bit too far, in my opinion.
It is, but it’s not likely as lots of them are in it only for the money.
There are pros and cons on both sides of the argument. I just hope that the decision on each instance will be made in the most democratic way possible.
Are other single board computers like OragnePI or Libre Computer any better?
Meta is a garabge company in so many ways. But I think that we need to allow these giant companies experience full extent of the fediverse. That will hopefully bring more pople on the fediverse, populorize is and make it more widely known / used which is a good thing. But we need to be cautious.
Its better in a lot of ways and I have fully switched, didnt look back since.
just send an email to reddit and use chatgpt to write a request for you. mention your account username / email and request deletion of personal data + posts (account in general) from reddit / twitter as perrmited under gdpr.
Same here, I am all in with fediverse. I will soon delete both my reddit and twitter profiles, I hope that more people will follow soon. ps: make sure to send a GDPR claim to both so that they purge all of your contributions to the site ( reddit posts/ comments ect… ), this is the only way that they will be able to see how badly they are running these services.
We should strive to use/promote privacy-friendly and foss alternatives ( fediverse in general ) like Mastodon or Lemmy.
He is such a gigachad
At that point just use Firefox / Librewolf, os just turn off all of the brave rewards crap ( crypto )…
I had the same problem, I have switched over to ProtonDrive and Iike it so much. If you want give ProtonDrive a try.
I tried it and its pretty cool and polished, but Bitwarden is WAY better in every poseible way.
I think if you just let people delete their data whenever and clearly state how that data is used/ stored everything will be fine.
I think that this is the best take on this topic
