  • On old Twitter, community notes was simply a function of raising a flag for tweets that got ratio'd. This would open those tweets up for Community Notes users to submit a fact check. Then, the fact check with the highest upvotes gets displayed as the default one.

Now? Not sure. Elon is a sneaky fucker. But I do think it could be implemented as a simple comment queue that admins and moderators could set user roles to help with.

  • Could be a good feature to add to PieFed, which is built on Python specifically to allow more developers to have access to building extensions and plugins.

  • Damnit. I wanted to be optimistic and skeptical that this wouldn't happen exactly the way the internet said it would. >:(

  • If Trump pardons her, what's to stop her from just fucking off to Belize and releasing the rest of the information anyway? A pardon is a liability, imo.

  • I don't even understand the motivation. Much of Trump's 2020 coalition is composed of white guys who got their entire education of the world from Comedy Central reruns. They have a stronger loyalty to South Park than they do to Trump.

  • I was browsing Epstein's black book yesterday, and it is actually a little alarming how many Kennedys are in there. I know an address book isn't the same as a client list, but it does mean that they most likely knew one another.

I also learned that Minnie Driver as of 2008 or so, when this black book was seized as part of an investigation, used an EarthLink.net email address lol

  • I dunno. I haven't seen that proven definitively yet, but I know that several of her siblings did go into the intelligence industry. It is not farfetched, either, given Alex Acosta's comment that he was told Epstein was an intelligence asset and to leave it alone.

  • I understand the cynicism, but, I actually think that GM knows what happened to Epstein. From reading interviews and her online presence, you can tell quickly that she is a very timid and fearful person in the face of all of this, but she also seems to display the usual sense of self-preservation that most of us have too.

I think she knows that she is at risk of being 'suicided' by speaking to the US government. I don't think Trump would get her to agree to say nothing happened and let her free, because if she is free and fucks off to Belize, she could still ruin his fucking life from 3,000 miles away.

Personally, I think that the situation we are looking at is that she knows that if she doesn't pipe up and drop more dirt, she WILL be silenced before that can happen. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibilities that GM has a dead-man's switch operating somewhere; for Christ's sake, she was the chief of staff of the world's largest and most elaborate sex trafficking and extortion ring.

Why would it be beyond the pale for her to have shipped a box of Epstein's hard drives from his Florida properties? They could easily have been shipped to some douche in another country who benefits from a trust for as long as they sit on that information, with instructions to release the documents online if GM is reported as dead.

  • God. That woman is so brave that I can't even imagine what it's like. Kanye, crazy as he is by himself, also has a league of devoted fans who will make this woman's life a living hell.

Why the fuck do we make it so hard for women to just be alive? We carve a special space out for them, then just crowd the walls to make it impossible to breathe there.

  • That's what my NetBook had, back when those were The Thing To Have :)

  • Me, a Debian Enjoyer but Ubuntu Hater: 👀

  • Sometimes, designing systems for non-technical people requires a little compromise on the licensing extremism that is very baked into FOSS culture.

It is why most Linux folks are stoked that Linux can play Windows games reliably — it means that millions of Windows lifers are getting exposed to Arch Linux for the first time. Sure, Steam is proprietary, and so are Nvidia drivers, but nobody decides to start with Linux and stay there (they do, but, I am talking single digit numbers vs the billions using Windows). Everyone has to start somewhere.

That said, big frown on Ubuntu. I would personally prefer something like Debian that has fewer major update increments, or an immutable Arch setup.

  • This may as well be porn to me.

  • Boy, that is going to just encourage companies like RealPage. 😬 How much more can rent go up before it starts cutting into people's grocery or medicine budgets?

  • This guy looks like his dick is real red.

  • Hey, my dad played on the West Virginia University Epsteins!

  • Him, sure. But journalists are grilling everyone around him, it's a matter of time until one snaps and breaks rank. There was a clip of a journalist grilling Pam Bondi on the client list going around from just yesterday.

  • I saw a clip of Trump speaking in 2020 this morning as I did my daily video catch-up over coffee, and it really struck me how much sicker he looks now compared to just 5 years ago, where he already looked like a wet mop on a clothing line.

I know the Presidency ages you, but that's regular presidents who work. Something else is aging this guy this quickly.
