The following pages are returning “404 page not found” consistently, for me at least. (Also, breaks infinite scroll on homepage.)
https://kbin.social/?p=2
https://kbin.social/?p=6
https://kbin.social/newest
(Though, https://kbin.social/newest?p=1 does seem to to work.)
Also not working:
https://kbin.social/all
https://kbin.social/active
Things have been pretty broken today and the site is running incredibly slow in general. I’m struggling to navigate posts, and things have been awfully quiet which makes me think something with federation has stopped working with Lemmy again (I can see my comment from earlier today on Mastodon but not Lemmy).
things have been awfully quiet which makes me think something with federation has stopped working with Lemmy again
Things haven’t been in sync for a day or two at least. Looking at a post from both kbin and lemmy (specifically startrek.website), there are times when not all of the posts are there, or there are comments missing, or the votes are just stuck. And this morning all/hot was almost completely static for hours.
there is indeed something weird going on with lemmy. i noticed some feeds from lemm.ee are down, and the logs from my instance are filling up with bot rejections from lemmy.world, ie they are blocking bot traffic. i thought i read something about the new version of lemmy breaking some inter-lemmy fed traffic.
the error messages piling up are bad for my 'bin instance due to the retry methods used… extra processing, disk space starts to fill up… resources just start piling up so i’m having to manually dump things regularly for the last 24-36 hours.
feasible kbin.social is also having some of the same problems i am
It’s doing the same for us. Every time we submit a comment, submit a new post… it’s very very buggy.
Ernest seems to be working on it now

There’ve been some stability issues with kbin.social for a couple days now. Been having trouble loading threads and even just voting on things sometimes doesn’t work. Hopefully it gets resolved soon!
/all does the same for me
Same. Adding https://kbin.social/all to the list above.
/active also does not work for me (404). All kinds of things give 404 or various 5xx errors.
The site seems to be having lots of problems, right now.
Have noticed that, too. Most haven’t been consistent or repeatable enough to report, but these seemed like they were. Hopefully, Ernest has time to take a look at them soon enough.
For what it’s worth, confirmed for me as well. Except “new”, that page seems to work fine.
On Mobile, using Firefox on Android if that matters.
It’s still happening now.
Yeah. It started yesterday for me.
Read something, I think, on another thread about Ernest, the admin, being away with family for the holiday. Might be somewhat limited functionality for a little bit. But, he’s been pretty on top of things over the last few months. I’m sure he’ll get it sorted out when he gets back.
I get kbin.social/undefined after scrolling infinite down a bit
it seems to be working on bursts, sometimes works fine, but sometimes anything that means loading data has problems (infinite scroll or direct load)
Same when clicking a thumbnail for me
You pay attention on some error pages, you’ll notice the message that there’s some work being done in the background for the next several days.
That’s the default error text, it’s been showing up for any downtime for a few months now. I think Ernest probably set that once for a server upgrade a while back and never changed it lol.
I have the same problem
This very thread gives me the same error if I try to navigate to the comments via my feed, but not if I do so via the magazine.
Ha ha, business!
Yep, same here. I guess it’s time to take a break from Kbin for the holidays! Looking forward to being able to use Kbin again :)
Have fun everyonedeleted by creator
Same. https://kbin.social/settings/notifications gives 404.
Assuming the admin is working on it at this point, according to this thread: https://kbin.social/m/kbinDevlog/t/729349/RTR-49-On-site-workYesterday, https://kbin.social/?p=1 & https://kbin.social/?p=5 weren’t working…
Today it looks like https://kbin.social/?p=2 & https://kbin.social/?p=3 aren’t working.
Something must be happening in the background… probably.
